Cervical Mucus Chart
iKonceive uses information you enter about days in your cycle to compile two different graphical views to assist you in understanding different aspects of your fertility during your cycle.
While the Basal Body Temperature graph is aimed at almost exclusively understanding changes in your Basal Body Temperature, your Cervical Mucus Chart presents information you enter about two important aspects of your cycle, namely:
- Your Cervical Mucus (or lack of); and
- Your Menstrual Bleeding (including Mid-cycle spotting)
The information is presented in format not unlike a two pie charts laid on top of each other.
iKonceive will construct your Cervical Mucus Chart as you add days to your cycle and will only fill in sections with color when it has enough information to do so.
Below is an image of a Cervical Mucus Chart for a 28 day cycle where only 16 days of information have been collected.
Notice the following:
- Heavy menstruation on days 1 & 2
- Medium menstruation on days 3 & 4
- Light Menstruation on day 5
- Pre-ovulation dry days (after menstruation and prior to the first wet day on day 10)
- Wet days on days 10 to 16
- No information for day 17 onward or at the core section of the chart.
- The green dots that indicate probable fertile days (as given by the Probably Fertile Day Range given by the Calendar Charting method, described elsewhere)

Figure 1. An incomplete Cervical Mucus Chart
The full chart will only be completed when you have entered enough information to establish the following:
- Menstruation has ended (giving the last day of menstruation in the cycle)
- Mucus has appeared (giving the first wet day of the cycle)
- Mucus has stopped (giving the first post-ovulation dry day in the cycle)
When these three pieces of information are available, the core section of the chart will break your cycle into three phases.
Figure 2. A complete Cervical Mucus Chart
Notice the following:
- Days 1 to 9 are marked as Probably Infertile
- Days 10 to 17 are marked as Fertile
- Days 18 onwards are marked as Infertile
- Day 18 show spotting
- Days 19 to 28 show post-ovulation dry days
- No sections show white (because all the necessary information has been collected)
