iKonceive FAQ Answers

Key Concepts

What is a Basal Body Temperature Graph?

A Basal Body Temperature graph is a graphical representation of your temperature taken each day of your cycle. During ovulation, your basal body temperature will drop and then rapidly rise to normal levels. The graph will show you when your Basal Body Temperature fluctuates, so that you can use your past BBT readings to predict when ovulation will occur in future cycles.

iKonceive also extends normal BBT graphs by adding small symbols such as diamonds and circles to show when you experienced menstruation or had sexual intercourse.

For more information, consult all the resources at your disposal such as books, your medical practitioner, search engines and local library.

What is a Cervical Mucus Chart?

Your Cervical Mucus (CM) chart is a graphical representation of changes to your cervical mucus during your cycle. The CM chart looks like two pie charts stacked on top of each other. The slices visible in the outer section of the chart represent days in your cycle and the inner section shows "phases" of your cycle when your level of fertility changes.

Each of these slices or sections is colored differently according to a legend.

Days are colored based on menstruation, cervical mucus (or lack of) and position (relative to both menstruation and the wet days of your cycle).

The inner "phases" are colored to show probable fertility and fertility, based on characteristics of the days that make up the phases.

What kind of fertility signs can I record?

You can record changes to your Basal Body Temperature (BBT), changes to your Cervical Mucus, mid-cycle spotting and physical signs such as changes to your cervix or breast tenderness.

You can also record a broad range of information relevant to conception and your cycle, including menstruation, sexual intercourse, physical symptoms, emotional state and general notes.
